Here is a photograph of Foiled Again and Chris Coyle right before the world champion harness racing pacer returned to the Ron Burke Stable to begin training for the 2014 race season.
Foiled Again, the richest pacer in the history of harness racing, spent his time off at Coyle's Olive Branch Farm in Wingate, North Carolina and according to Chris, the ten-year-old gelding is in prime shape and is ready to take on the best pacers in the world again this year. Hopefully he will make his 2014 debut in the Levy Series at Yonkers Raceway in March.
Foiled Again and his connections will be honored at the upcoming Dan Patch Awards Dinner on Sunday, February 23 at Dover Downs. Foiled Again was voted the 2013 Older Pacer of the Year and is a contender for not only Pacer of the Year honors but also Harness Horse of the Year. His trainer, Ron Burke, is the Trainer of the Year and Burke Racing, Weaver Bruscemi are the Owners of the Year in 2013. For more info about the dinner and to purchase tickets go to www.ushwa.org.
