Former Gippsland trainer Bert Munckton dies

Former Gippsland trptting trainer Bert Munckton died last week.A member of a well-known Pakenham family, Bert and his wife Pearl and brother Pat were actively involved in harness racing for many years.The Monckton stable produced horses such as Little Do Good (five wins),

Nancy Wave (eight wins), Pearl Prince and Jefs Warrior, which won 10 races.

Bert was a popular figure among the Gippsland trotting family, with many local reinsman donning his white and red silks in races or trials at least once over the years.A funeral service will be held in Pakenham on Monday.

FUNERAL:

The Funeral of Mr Herbert George (Bert) Munckton will leave the David W. Bull Funeral Home, 190 Princes Hwy (cnr Pakenham Rd), Pakenham on MONDAY (Oct. 22, 2012) after a Service commencing at 11.00 a.m. for the Pakenham Cemetery.
