Soho Burning Love became the latest harness racing winner for Auckland Reactor when winning her Bathurst Gold Tiara Silver Consolation last night.
Showing a good turn of foot, the two year old filly finished the race off strongly to win by two lengths.
On the same program, fellow Auckland Reactor two year old Ezy Ryder ran a nice race to finish second.
Soho Burning Love is from the Western Terror mare Soho Bordeaux out of the Perfect Art mare Lombo Portrait. Soho Burning Love was bred by Robert Watson and is owned by him. She is trained by Jane Davies and was driven by Amanda Turnbull.
Soho Burning Love
Soho Burning Love is the fourth individual winner to date by Auckland Reactor (two girls and two boys), the others are Gotta React (from the Live Or Die mare Gotcha), Ezy Ryder (from the Armbro Operative mare Miss Feelgood) and the Sire Stakes heat winner in New Zealand Miss Ethel Sunshine (from the McArdle mare Miss Sunshine).
The Auckland Reactor’s have also been active at trials with impressive performances on both sides of the Tasman this week.
At Ashburton on Tuesday the unraced Jazzy Star (from the Village Jasper mare Shikaka) qualified by defeating the highly regarded Cole Porter with a last half of 57.9! This is extremely notable given Cole Porter is this season’s NZ Sapling Stakes winner who paced it's mile in 1:53.9!
While back in Australia last night King Hurra (from the Panorama mare Aldebaran) showed great speed to lead and win his first time at any trials at Newcastle.
With plenty of other good reports emanating from trainers in both Australia and New Zealand it is a really exciting time for Auckland Reactor.
It is easy to see why Auckland Reactor was so well supported in the past stud season, his fourth season at stud traditionally a very hard year to get numbers, having bred 95 mares in New Zealand and 150 in Australia a total of 245.
