Franco Revel

Some harness racing horses seem to have been around for ever without ever setting the world on fire. Franco Revel has always looked one of those horses.

Bought off Spreydon Lodge as a late 3 year old by the late Bryce Buchanan, this son of Falcon Seelster has plied his trade in and around Canterbury ever since.

Taken over by his daughter and son in law, Glenys and Terry Chimel when Bryce died, Franco Revel has been a quite achiever over his career.

He started off with a hiss and a roar, winning four of his first nine starts and looked a horse going places.

From there he has battled away for over two and a half years, winning a couple but not really fulfilling his early promise.

Just lately though Franco Revel has turned his form around. Todays win at Rangiora was his third in his last seven starts and took his total race wins to nine.

Being from one of the better branches of the maternal that trace to Royal Belmer, Franco Revel is closely related to such smart types as Rondel Franco 1:51.3 ($681,999)   Franco Renegade 1:55.5 ($222,218) and Courageousnquick 1:56.3 ($162,312).

While he may never grace a group one race, Franco Revel looks more than capable of winning a few more in his present form.
