CHARLOTTETOWN, PE – After having his harness racing win streak snapped last week, Freddie was out for revenge and he got it Thursday evening at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Marc Campbell was in the bike behind his own trainee in the $2,400 Open Trot, getting away third while Star Photo (Driven by Jason Hughes) set the tempo of 29.1, 59.4 and 1:29.3. Freddie used a first-over move to engage that leader and take over past the third station. He then fended off Glider Man (Kenny Arsenault) in the stretch drive to win in 1:58.3 while Majian Tango (Jim Ripley) finished third. Freddie is owned by Three Wisemen Stable of Kingston.
Falls Creek overcame the front-stepping Collective Wisdom (Gilles Barrieau) in the $2,350 top pace for the second part of a Campbell driving triple stopping the clock in 1:56.3. Bo Ford trains Falls Creek for owner Arnold Myers of Charlottetown.
Campbell's other win came aboard Paythelinebluechip in 1:57.1 for trainer Jay Noye of Cornwall.
Jason Hughes had a driving triple on the program winning with Warrawee Ulla in 1:57 from his own barn, Bettor Be In Love in 1:57.1 for trainer Brendan Mullen of Mount Stewart and with Scotlynn Seelster as part of a training double for Chris MacKay of French River in 1:58.4. MacKay's other win came with Sophist (David Dowling) in 1:59.3.
