Well Said - Sired the quickest 2yo qualifier at Harrah's

Tuesday (June 11) morning saw one hundred two-year-olds face starter Norton Shoemaker at Harrah's Philadelphia, contesting thirteen qualifying heats over a fast track.

A Plus Hanover (Well Said) set the bar high in the first race of the morning, rallying late to pass Suits (Matt's Scooter) in a 1:55.3 mile--the fastest two-year-old qualifier of the day--under Tim Tetrick for trainer Mark Harder. Hot Shot Hayden (SJ's Caviar) re-rallied from an early break to record the fastest freshman trotting mile of the session, with the Arlene Cameron trainee finishing in 2:00.3 in rein to John Wagner.

A trio of Roland "Polie" Mallar trainees stood out, with Gymokee Jerry (The Panderosa, 1:56.4, David Miller), Shesaidhesaidisaid (Well Said, 1:58.0, Cat Manzi), and Mr De Luca (Art Major, 2:01.3, David Miller) all winning their splits. Also, the Don Milby-trained Major Uptrend (Somebeachsomewhere) unleashed a :27.3 final quarter--fastest of the morning session--en route to a 1:58.2 mile with Frank Milby at the lines.
