Spreester's second win of the year came in 1:53.3

Spreester (American Ideal) pulled off the harness racing upset in Friday evening's $13,000 feature at Saratoga Casino and Raceway.

The Paul Zabielski-trained mare was making just her sixth start of the season after having a sensational season as a sophomore in 2014.

Spreester, the first pacer in over a decade to win the local awards for Two Year Old Pacer and Three Year Old Pacer in successive seasons, scored her first victory of '15 last week.

She moved up into Friday's "Winners Over" for distaff pacers, a race that saw sizzling fractions early.

The race's two favorites battled it out early in an opening quarter of 26.2 and a first half in 55.3.

Spreester followed live cover and emerged victorious after a scramble in the stretch that saw several horses separated by just a couple lengths at the wire.

Spreester's second win of the year came in 1:53.3 and at odds of 14-1.

She was piloted by Stephane Bouchard who recorded a pair of winners on the card.

Live racing continues on Saturday night at the Spa with first post time set for 6:45pm.
