The KS Black & Co Carnival Of Cups heads to Parkes on Friday night with the harness racing highlight being the running of the $20,000 Gold Cup for 4 and 5 year old pacers and despite being up in grade the Chris Frisby trained Uncle Lile looks set to play a role in the finish after drawing barrier two.

The son of Dawn Of A New Day, Uncle Lile has won 12 races in his career and relishes racing when in front.

“I think he has only been beaten once in his entire career when he has found the front that was towards the end of his two year old season but from the good barrier draw on Friday night he will be rolling forward at the start,” Frisby said.

“In saying that he is racing horses at Parkes which are a lot higher assessed than he is so it is going to be very tough for him but I have been very happy with the way he has been racing since a little freshen up he had after finishing third in a heat of a country series in November.”

Frisby trained the talented Dinki Di to 25 victories. The gelding has won more than $300,000 in his career, which included a narrow defeat in the 2005 Victoria Cup behind Be Good Johnny and while Uncle Lile is not as classy, the four year old is still doing a good job for the small stable.

“Dinki Di was clearly the best horse I have ever trained, he ran second in the NSW Derby, second in the Chariots Of Fire, third in a Trans Tasman, second in a Treuer Memorial and a neck second in the Victoria Cup so he was a beauty but Uncle Lile is easily the next best.”

“I was really impressed with his last start win at Parkes. He had to come from behind; he copped a check at the 300 or 400 metres and lost a length or two and had to pick up all of his momentum again but knuckled down and still won. I was very happy with that.”

Just by being on course this Friday night at Parkes one lucky patron will go into the draw to win a brand new Toyota Yaris to be announced at the HRNSW Awards Night on October 26th.
