CHARLOTTETOWN, PE - Harness racing standout Pinner will try to make it five-in-a-row in the Saturday afternoon top class at Red Shores Racetrack and Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
First race post time for the 13-dash card is 1 pm.
Pinner has post 4 in the race 12 $2,200 feature within the bike for co-owner and trainer Brian Ladner and co-owners Kevin and Lillian Ladner of Charlottetown. Pinner will face off with McJestic, who has post 3 for driver . McJestic has an identical winning time to Pinner in his latest outing, and used off the pace tactics to land in the winner's circle. Another threat in the eight horse field is New Brunswick ship-in Malek Hanover ( ), who earned over $20,000 this season racing the tough Maine circuit. The nine-year-old son of is trained by New Brunswick's , who has five horses entered on the afternoon card. Other entries in the race 12 feature are Blu Meadow Willie (Robert MacInnis), Nobestbfor ( ), Doll R General ( ), Stayoutofmyaffair ( ), and Artist List ( ).
A compact group of five will contest the race 6 $1,500 Open trot as Zip The Lip has a four race win streak on the line from post 5 for driver Brian MacPhee, co-owner and trainer Donald Sweet and owner Orville Willis, both of O'Leary. Abundaspin () has post 4 and will try to find a way to defeat Zip The Lip after being unable to since Nov. 2. Also in the race is Wonderous Hanover ( ), Buckling Banbury ( ) and Caliban Hanover ( ).
Race 9 has the back-up pace for a purse of $1,550. The race has Oakrock Almighty favored off the rail for driver, trainer , and owners Jack Keenan of Stratford and Joseph Dahl of Ontario. Other top competitors include Capitalism ( ) from post 9 and Sterling Seelster ( ) with post 3.
