Charlottetown, PE - Pinner, with Marc Campbell in the bike, won the featured event Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino. It was Pinner's fifth straight victory, tenth of the season and 31st lifetime. The seven-year-old son of Mach Three, owned by trainer Brian Ladner, Kevin and Lillian Ladner of Charlottetown, toured the CDP oval in gate to wire fashion in 1:57.3. The track was rated good with a two second variant. The track crew did a great job prepping the surface for the 13 dash program.

Nobestbfor was second, charted three-lengths off the leader, while Doll R General was third. The 4-2-5 triactor paid $111.40. Stayoutofmyaffair finished fourth and triggered a superfecta payout with 4-2-5-6 at $214.05.

The afternoon showcased two trot divisions. Caliban Hanover and Ron Gass won the open class over Abundaspin and Zip the Lip, who both recovered after early breaks, to complete the top three. Zip the Lip's mis-cue was costly as it ended his winning streak at four. Caliban Hanover is owned by Wendell MacDonald of Cornwall.

Who Took That, driven by Michael McGuigan, converted a pocket trip to a winning score taking her trot class in 2:03.3. The Andrew family has a stake in the winner as Bill co-owns with Mitchell Tierney of Cornwall while Brian Andrew drove Honeymoonisover to a second place finish for his son Blake. Newcomer Ja El Blaze was third for Bo Sowers.

In other action, General Luckypercy won the back-up class in 1:59.1 for driver Ron Matheson and son Jackie who handles the training duties. Team Matheson also won with Van Zant to record a driving and training double. Panacotta won his second in a row for Mark Bradley, owner Shane Baglole and trainer Blaine Baglole of Cornwall. Drivers Brian MacPhee and Corey MacPherson ended the pre-holiday card with two winners each on the program. Wade Sorrie notched a driving and training victory on the day.

The live handle was $28,061

Racing returns on Boxing Day with a full card and the Buck Barker retirement pace.
