Miracle Matts wins Irene MacInnis Memorial

Charlottetown, PE - Miracle Matts, with Corey MacPherson in the bike, won the afternoon feature in the Irene MacInnis memorial Saturday at Red Shores. The time of the mile was 2:01 over a sloppy CDP oval with a three second variant.

MacPherson rallied Miracle Matts from fourth at the head of the lane for an exciting stretch drive victory over Cambest Kisser (Jason Hughes) with fraction setter Nobestbfor (Walter Cheverie) hanging on for third. Blois MacPhail of Cornwall was the winning owner.

Abundaspin, owned by Mikaela Lustic, Cornwall, was a two length winner for driver Harold Shepherd in the open trot division. Zip the Lip was second while Caliban Hanover completed the triactor.

Marc Campbell continues his reign at the top of the driver standings posting a hat-trick. The Winlsoe native clicked with Rebelryan, Silky Britches and Whatrugonnado.

Ron Matheson, Corey MacPherson and Jason Hughes recorded driving doubles with Hughes, Jackie Matheson and Jonah Moase each scoring two training victories on the card.

The final card of the season is Friday February 7th during the O'Brien Awards weekend. Post time is 6pm.
