The Atlantic Sire Stakes were the feature at Summerside

Summerside, PE - The three-year-old colts had center stage Friday at Red Shores Summerside.

Tobins Fusion, under command of Gilles Barrieau, took the first "A" division with a comfortable eight length score in 1:58.2. The colt is owned by Boyd MacDonald, Crapaud, Dan Ross, Belfast and Charles Seymour, NB. Wendell Willliams bred the colt who picked up his second win of the campaign.

The next $9,420 split went to Dumas Walker for co-owner Myles Heffernan in 1:58 flat. Jackie Heffernan also shares ownership on the son of Western Success who streaked to his second stakes win in a row.

Driver Earl Smith sent Touch of Thunder to the front and held off a late surge from Just a Professer (Mike Stevenson) to win his "A" division in 1:58.1 for owners Peter and Don Smith, Larry Chappell and Gerald Morrissey. The breeder is Gregory MacKenzie, N.S.

The other top performances in stakes action went to Dusty Lane Diego for owner-trainer Gary Chappell in 2:01.2, My Kinda Crazy for Mark Bradley and the Kickin Horse Stable while Tobins Delight wired the field in his contest in 2:01 for Brian MacPhee. MacPhee, who had a driving double on the card, handled the colt for Michael Biggar of Coleman, PE.

In other action, Blue Meadow Willie, owned by Bob and Brenda McInnis, Summerside, PE, recorded the fastest mile of the night in a sparkling 1:55 for driver Walter Cheverie.

Newcomer Frill Seeker romped in the trot class with an impressive 1:59.2 score. Kenny Arsenault did the driving for Ebbsfleet Stables of Stratford, Ontario.

Bad Date won the Bud Ramsay Memorial for driver Jason Hughes in 1:58.2 for owner-trainer Harold Hill.

Gary Chappell notched a driving double as he edges closer to 2.500 career victories in the bike. Chappell will drive Red Rock in the 46th running of the Governor's Plate Saturday.
