Greatheart Hanover wins Red Shores feature

Charlottetown, PE – Greatheart Hanover captured the Thursday night feature for driver Jason Hughes at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino. The Stephen Quinn trainee posted back to back winning performances after touring the CDP oval in a swift 1:56.4. The five-year-old pacer is owned by Foxyhall Racing stable of Summerside, PE. Machinthesand rallied to get second with Sterling Seelster third.

Two trot divisions were called to the starter in race 3 and 5. BJ Carmalta, with Bert Honkoop in the bike, posted a performance to win the first race in 2:06.3. The mare turned back Hopedale Dora and Mile Hill Philly.

Sandhill Angel recorded her second win in a row for Kenny Arsenault and owner-trainer Glenn Claybourne, Charlottetown. The time of the mile was 2:04.2 Scarlet Patti was second with Incredible Her Bee third.

St Lads Hot Rod, in line to Mark Bradley, gave Melissa Rennie her first training victory on the card.

Brodie MacPhee, Marc Campbell and Kenny Arsenault each paraded two winners on the night.

Racing returns Saturday and Sunday at Red Shores Charlottetown. The weekend of Champions in the Atlantic Breeders Crown and the Island Pacing Championship, presented by Meridian Farms, will take center stage. Post time for the programs will be 1pm.
