Many of Australasia’s leading stallions are represented in the catalogue for the Bathurst Gold Crown Yearling Sale to be conducted on Sunday, March 23 at the Bathurst Showground.

The progeny of 50 different sires are listed including For A Reason’s sire Art Major (3 lots), Scandalman’s sire Live Or Die (4), Bling It On’s sire American Ideal (3), Villagem’s sire Village Jasper (5) and Smoken Up’s sire Tinted Cloud (5) and the leading juvenile sires Sportswriter (11), Always A Virgin (5), Artistic Fella (4), Jereme’s Jet (3) and Shadow Play (2).

Eight of the top dozen Australasian-based sires as they currently stand on the Australian Sires’ Premiership table are represented in the catalogue.

Shark Gesture leads the way on numbers for the first season sires with 10 catalogued entries. Other first season sires represented are Rock N Roll Heaven (4 lots), Lonestar Legend (1) and BG’s Folly (1).

Aside from the first season sires the most represented sires in the sale are Passmaster Hanover (20 lots), Grinfromeartoear (13), Sportswriter (11), Flightpath (10), Four Starzzz Shark (9), Million Dollar Cam (8) and Courage Under Fire (8).

Mister Big, the richest pacing stallion in history, has four lots, dual premiership-winning sire Armbro Operative (4) and three-time premier NSW sire Aces N Sevens (2).

Rocknroll Hanover, the leading all-aged sire in North America in 2012, has a single entry in the sale.
