Commander Crowe (11g Juliano Star-Somack-Mack Lobell) took Saturday’s AZ Turf Summer Cup at Victoria Park Wolvega (Netherlands) for reinsman Robin Bakker.

The 2100 meter autostart course was negotiated in 1.15.7kr. Bakker put the champion, a career winner of over US$4.7 million, on the lead, yielded briefly and then regained the front that he held to the line by less than a length. Purse was €5,000. Andrly Fortune and Zorba Oldeson trailed the winner.

Robert Bi (4m Toss Out-Upfront JM-Self Possessed) also continued his comeback at Wolvega in the Halve Finale Criterium der Vierjarigen.

The Italian Derby winner and  2013 Horse of the Year in Italy won easily on the front-end by two lengths. Bakker teamed this winner for trainer Paul Hagoort. Robert Bi negotiated 2100 meters autostart in 1.14.1kr, defeating Davy Boko and Diamond. Purse was €3,000.

Italian’s were further evident on the Wolvega card. Hugo Langeweg Jr. teamed Sammath Naur Baba (3f Love You-Elizabeth Bi-Toss Out) to victory. Second dam of this winner is the Sugarcane Hanover mare Zvetland Bi. Regina dei Rex (4f Self Possessed-Ellymay-Supergill) and Rovero d’Asolo (4m Varenne-Avigliana-Lemon Dra) were also victorious.

Replays of all the race are attached.
