Smiley Bayama, owned by Shelley & Alexis Gass, Cornwall, PE, won the Saturday night featured event at the harness racing meeting at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.Ron Gass was in the bike for the 1:57.3 score over First Art Down (Ken Murphy) while Windemere Eric (Gary Chappell) was third.Howmacs Pride won the trot division in 2:02.2 for driver Kenny Arsenault and ownership group of Wade Peconi, Stanchel, PE and Howmac Farms, North Wiltshire, PE. The mare picked up her third win from nine starts in 2015.
Political Crisis, with Adam Merner in the bike, claimed The Guardian pace in race 10. Merner mapped out the winning trip for his co-owner Max Sehl, N.S.
The action now shifts to Red Shores at the Summerside Raceway Sunday for Governor's Plate Week.
