Charlottetown, PE – Veteran harness racing driver Gary Chappell enjoyed a big day at Red Shores Summerside snagging four victories on the 12 dash program including the feature with Acton O So Royal.
Chappell hustled the Colleen Chappell trainee to the front and carved out fractions of 28.3, 1:00.4 and 1:31.3 before unleashing a 28.3 closing quarter to seal the deal in 2:00.1. It was the third win in a row for the horse who is owned by Wayne Pike, Winlsoe, PE. Motorino (Brian MacPhee) rallied from the back of the pack for second while Outside The Wire (Walter Cheverie) completed the triactor.
Chappell also paraded Blu Meadow Willie, Lyons Katrina and Milla Road to victory lane.
Mark Bradley notched a driving triple scoring with Ultimate Faith from the Abel Arsenault stable, Pictonian Press for William Folland and Sportsonthebeach for owner David MacDonald, Halifax, NS.
The fastest mile of the afternoon came with Every Day and driver Brian Andrew stopping the timer in 1:58.3. William and Rachel Andrew are the winning owners.
Walter Cheverie left the day sitting one win away from career milestone 2500.

Tyne Valley pulls off Maritime Breeders Final in Buddy Campbell memorial
Charlottetown, PE – Tyne Valley tracked race favorite Paymenowpaymelater and then pulled the pocket to beat her in the stretch to claim the $7,000 Maritime Breeders final named in honor of the late Buddy Campbell Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
Kenny Arsenault did the driving for owner- trainer Bill Roloson and other members of the ownership group of Scott Roloson, Belfast, PE and Kristi Pickering, Charlottetown. The race was presented by Meridian Farms. Paymenowpaymelater (Marc Campbell) was second with JK Blaze (Walter Cheverie) third.
Campbell drove Forever Paradise to victory in the evening's preferred pace stopping the timer in a dazzling 1:56.1. The pacer, who has been putting up some impressive numbers recently, is trained by Kevin MacLean for Reg MacPherson, David MacKenzie, Stratford and Aaron MacKenzie, Winsloe, PE.
It was a one-two punch in the open trot for trainer Ron Gass of Cornwall when trainees Caliban Hanover beat stable-mate Pleasure Girls in the race 4 showdown.
Red Shores also featured two divisions of the Amateur Driving Series presented by Chuckie's Sports Excellence. Drew Neill and Austin Sorrie won their respective divisions on the card.
