The first Thursday night feature of the 2016 harness racing meet at Red Shores Charlottetown was an all class victory for Idealic Life.
The winner of over $525, 000 life used a class dropping first over effort to track down newcomer Ok Galahad, who laid down fractions of :28.4, :58.4 and 1:28.1, Idealic Life is owned by Perry, Robin and Luke Burke along with Kent Livingston. Trevor Hicken is the trainer while Red Shores Charlottetown's top reinsmen Corey MacPherson handled the driving duties.
Charlottetown native Kenny Arsenault enjoyed another banner night at his home town oval, with three driving victories, two of them from his own stable, including Frill Seeker winning the Open trot in 2:01.2. Arsenault also picked up wins aboard trainee Waterside Light and Elm Grove Kaboom for trainer Earl Smith, both horses are owned by Larry and Kathy Chappell.
Driver Mark Bradley and Trainer Tom Weatherbie teamed up on the first Thursday card of the season at Red Shores Charlottetown for the early double with Pownal Bay Style and Glory Jean. Marc Campbell also enjoyed a driving double on the card aboard Windemere Stanley and J J Jodster.
Racing returns to the capital oval on Saturday evening for a 13-dash card beginning at 6:00 pm.
