Gold Dust Beach, listed as 60-1 in Trot’s 2005 North America Cup Spring Book, made his first pari-mutuel sophomore start at Balmoral Park on Tuesday (April 26).

Gold Dust Beach picked up a second-place finish at the reins of Dale Hiteman.

The son of Jennas Beach Boy-Good As Gold was in fourth for the first half of the mile before going first up through the last quarter and hitting the wire 1 ¾ lengths behind Four Star Mike in 1.52.

Last week the Joseph Seekman trainee qualified in 1.55 at Balmoral and in 1.57.1 the week before.

Gold Dust Beach had a record of 1-1-1 in seven starts last year and over $15,000 in earnings for L and L Devisser LLC of Holland, Michigan.
