Charlottetown, PE – Driver Gilles Barrieau is now an official member of the 4,000 win club.
Barrieau reached the milestone with four victories on the day, one at Exhibition Park Raceway in Saint John, NB and three more during the 12 dash program Saturday at Red Shores Racetrack & Casino at the Charlottetown Driving Park.
The NB native won with Pictonian Edge for trainer Kevin MacLean and then swept the late daily double with the Ron Matheson stable aboard Clic K, who won the feature in a sparking 1:54.3, and Artners in Crime, owned by Bobbi Jo Gaudet, notching the career milestone. Barrieau was joined in the winner’s circle by family, friends and Red Shores race manager Adam Walsh presented him with a special sign to mark the occasion.
Marc Campbell and Gordie Hennessey recorded driving doubles.
