Noted harness racing front runner Leda Mcnally is poised to make another appearance in the winners’ circle at Gloucester Park on Friday night.

Engaged in the $35,000 Brennan Memorial, Leda Mcnally has drawn to lead from the pole, which should see her prove too slick for her male counterparts over 2130 metres.

Should the daughter of Modern Art emerge successful she will join an elite sorority by becoming just the third member of the ‘fairer sex’ to capture the feature in its rich 46-year history.

Virgil Queen was the groundbreaker in 1978, followed by former star mare Whitby Heritage in 1989.

Leda Mcnally contested last season’s Brennan Memorial when fourth behind open class star Im Victorious, Sneakyn Down Under and her stablemate Lord Lombo.

Although first-up for eight weeks, the Chris King-trained mare has been trialling well, including a Pinjarra win over 2185 meters last weekend.

Racing in fine form for astute mentor Tony Svilicich, Shardons Rocket shapes as the main danger despite drawing awkwardly in barrier six.

The veteran has produced several eye-catching performances in recent weeks and is bound to be sent to the breeze early to test Leda Mcnally.

Although he is the most lightly-assessed runner in the field, Ballas Arockstar has been racing well against similar company this campaign and should figure in the finish once again.
