Grades Singing Euthanised

After having suffered from a lymph tumor, multiple Breeders Crown champion Grades Singing had to be euthanised on Monday (November 5).

Having won the Breeders Crown Mare Trot in three of the first four years that it was contested, Grades Singing, a 25-year-old daughter of Texas, had won 84 of her 148 international starts and banked earning in excess of $2.6 million around the globe.

Grades Singing was also a past recipient of an O'Brien Award, as she was named Canada Trotting Mare of the Year in 1989.

In addition to her three Breeders Crown wins in the older trotting mares division (1986, 1987, 1989), Grades Singing tallied victories in The Olympic Trot (1987), Finlandia Ajo (1987), Gran Premio Della Lotteria (1988) and Gran Premio delle Nazioni (1987, 1988). As a broodmare, Grades Singing had 11 foals, nine of which have raced.
