The Downs at Mohegan Sun Pocono is still searching for a few more grey or roan pacers for the Grey Ghost and Poltergeist Pace. Set for Tuesday, October 30th, “Mischief Night”,  it will be the perfect night for the ghostly greys to “appear” on the 5/8 mile oval in Wilkes Barre, PA.  This will be the sixth year for this fun family event!

The race will once again be sponsored by the Harness Racing Museum and Hall of Fame in Goshen, NY.

The winning horse will be presented with his or her trophy by children of Pocono horsemen in costume, and the Winner’s Circle is sporting spooky decor to set the mood for the race. Children in costume are welcome!  There will be face painting; free candy; and children can choose and paint their own pumpkin.  All the activities will get underway at 5:00pm, so get here early for the fun!

Post Time for the night card is 7:00pm and the race number is TBA.  Expect the unexpected in Post Parade, as in the past, a few drivers have been replaced with strange and scary creatures of the night!

Anyone interested in being a part of this fun event with their grey or roan should contact Jennifer Starr at 570-831-2195 as soon as possible.

***According to the U.S. Trotting Association, the governing body of harness racing, less than five percent of all harness horses are grey in color.  The most famous was the former world champion trotter and Hambletonian winner, Greyhound.
