The French bred stallions Used To Me and Quaker Jet, both members of the powerful Haras Des Trotteurs’ sire roster, provided winners of the Group 3 Vicbred Super Series Silver Trot at Kilmore on Wednesday (December 30).
Used To Me produced the winner of the $25,000 2YO Silver in She Sailz, while Quaker Jet led in the winner of the $25,000 3YO Silver, Im Ready Jet.
Both fillies bred by Haras Des Trotteurs’ principal Pat Driscoll were runaway winners defeating the colts by 43.7 and 28.7 metres respectively.
She Sailz, who carved out the last 800 in a stunning 57.7 seconds on the way to her third success, is a member of Used To Me’s largest crop. A Group winner in both hemispheres, Used To Me has sired eight winners from 15 starters, including the recent Cranbourne two-year-old winner Champagne Charley.
Im Ready Jet, one of 10 winners from the first crop of 24 foals by Quaker Jet, has won 10 of her 19 starts and $173,410 in stakes.
Love You, the sire of Quaker Jet, was represented by a ‘new’ winner at Ashburton, New Zealand during the holiday period in Excuse My French, who won on debut by 1-1/2 lengths with the last 800 in 58.7 seconds.
The Best Madrik, a Group 1 winner in France, was represented by the three-year-old filly Right Moves, who overcame a 20 metre handicap to score for the fifth time at Menangle. The Best Madrik has sired four winners – including three Group placegetters – from four starters from his initial crop of five foals.
