An overflow field of 12 diagonally gaited three-year-old fillies will head postward in Tuesday night’s (August 23) featured seventh race, a $50,000 Hanover Stake.

Leading the way in here is Brittany Farms classy sophomore Flirtin Miss who checks into town off a lifetime best of 1:55 in a Review Stake at Springfield last week.

The royally bred daughter of Malabar Man was a top performer in this division last season putting together a record of five wins, two seconds and one third in eight starts with earnings of $409,270.

Hailing from the powerful barn of conditioner Jimmy Takter Flirtin Miss has two wins and two thirds in six second season appearances, adding another $77,680 to her bankroll which will go over the $500,000 plateau if she can secure top honors in this event.

Illinois bred Silhouette Star has never been sharper and the pride of owners Patricia Jenks and Brianna Watson figures to be a major factor in this match-up.

The daughter of Valley Victor comes into this tussle riding a three-race winning streak. In her most recent triumph, the Joel Smith trainee made every call a winning one in the State Fair Final at Springfield as she tripped the timer in a career best of 1:54.2.

An eight-time career winner, Silhouette Star now boasts earnings of more than $162,000 in her 28-race career.

Turndorf Racing’s Arcola is another who hails from the Prairie State and she is not to be taken lightly on her “home turf”.

The Roger Welch trained miss finished a tough luck third behind Silhouette Star in the State Fair Final last week after posting an elimination win in a career best of 1:56.3 the previous week.

Last year’s Two-Year-Old Trotting Filly of the Year in the Land of Lincoln has been a winning machine for her connections posting an impressive record of 14-7-3 in 27 starts while earning more than $241,000.

Rounding out the field are the Lindy Racing Stable entry of Bring It Lindy and Nana’s Best, His Mssse Ja, Victor’s Pursuit, Lithograph, J Bo, Artemisia Ambrosio, Lady Lifter and Just Like Dream.
