Harness Racing NSW is excited to announce a marketing and promotional partnership with country & western music star Adam Brand during the 2013/2014 season.
Brand will be the face of HRNSW over the next 12 months and perform at numerous harness racing meetings.
He will also appear in a television commercial similar to the one that featured Shannon Noll, which won an award at the 2013 World Trotting Conference in France.
"I was most impressed to see what Shannon did for the trots last year," said Brand.
"When I found out what he was doing I must admit I said to my manager that it would be something I would love to do.
"I'm just happy that the opportunity has ended up on my doorstep and I cannot wait to get to the country areas and play for the fans of not only my music, but the fans of harness racing.
"Shannon has mentioned how much of a great time he had with it and that the crowds were increasing all of the time.
"I've just finished recording a new album so we will have a lot of fun playing some of the new stuff."
Adam Brand is one of Australia's most successful recording artists with CD & DVD sales of more than half a million units.
Over the course of his career he has had three platinum and five gold albums, been nominated four times for the ARIA Best Country Album and won a dozen Country Music Awards of Australia. This includes multiple wins in the Song of The Year and Vocalist of The Year categories.
Growing up in Perth, Adam's love for music was heavily influenced by his father who was a huge Elvis Presley fan. His mother, on the other hand, exposed him to Kris Kristofferson, Roy Orbison and The Everly Brothers.
In 1997, Adam packed up his Ute and travelled across the Nullabor to Sydney, where he released his first, self titled, album which was certified platinum within weeks. Adam has gone on to release eight blockbuster albums In Australia with multiple Gold or Platinum awards to his name.
One of those albums and songs, "Hell of a Ride", is the slogan for the upcoming HRNSW Carnival of Cups, and the catch phrase in the upcoming TVC. Last season it was the Shannon Noll release, "That's What I'm Talking About "that was used.
In September 2009, Brand signed a recording contract with the Nashville division of Sony Music for the distribution of his recordings in the U.S.
