THE annual Harness Racing New South Wales Awards night will be conducted on Saturday September 19 in Sydney and Clubs from across the state have been nominated for the Tabcorp Carnival of Cups Awards.
The award has been split into three separate categories with the best Level One, Level Two and Level Three meeting being recognised.
The nominations for the Level One Clubs Tabcorp Carnival of Cups Awards are;
Bathurst – Shirley Turnbull Memorial meeting December 26
Dubbo – Red Ochre Mares Classic meeting May 17
Young – Young Cup meeting March 14
Goulburn – Frank & Edna Day Goulburn Cup meeting January 26
The quality of horses these meetings were able to attract to regional NSW was a credit to each of the hard working Clubs.
For A Reason won the feature at Bathurst, Freedom Is proved too good at Dubbo, arguably Australia's best mare Frith was brilliant at Young while Easy On The Eye stamped himself in Australia with a win at Goulburn.
The nominations for the Level Two Clubs Tabcorp Carnival of Cups Awards are;
Eugowra – Canola Cup meeting October 6
Leeton – Breeders Plate meeting January 1
Junee – Junee Cup meeting January 25
Temora – Temora Cup meeting January 9
The Carnival Of Cups concept thrives on the support of not only the individual Clubs but the towns in which the Clubs exist.
Large crowds flocked to the nominated meetings ensuring a great atmosphere and competitive racing added to the mix.

Cowra – Tritech Cup meeting May 31
Forbes – Forbes Services Memorial Cup meeting May 3
Peak Hill – Tony and Jill McGrath Final meeting June 14
With the Carnival of Cups now in existence for the best part of a decade, Clubs are continuing to improve feature meetings.
Whether it be more prize money and trophies through sponsorship or better facilities for the patrons, these Clubs continue to host exciting race meetings.
