Popular owner Harvey Kaplan is still pinching himself after Bling It On's Breeders Crown victory capped off a remarkable season that has seen him win six Gr. 1 races with three different horses. Our Sixpence, Baby Bling and Bling It On have each won two but Kaplan was full of praise for broodmare Alldatglittersisgold after Sunday's success.

"Alldatglittersisgold is the mother of Baby Bling and Bling It On and I remember buying her about five years ago when the late Kaye Kilgour rang and said she had found me a mare in foal to Western Terror to buy for $10,000," Kaplan said.

"I looked at the family and it was reasonable so I convinced Kaye to buy the other half and the rest is history, Alldatglittersisgold was in foal to Baby Bling at the time and has subsequently produced Bling It On."

The next of the mare's progeny is a rising two year old by Grinfromeartoear and Kaplan is excited about his future as well.

"Rickie Alchin broke in Bling It On and has broken in the Grinfromeartoear one as well and he reported back that this one does everything like his older brother and is a dead ringer for him but is a little bit more fizzy and has been gelded."

"Then there is an Art Major colt and at this stage he might be going to the yearling sales but I will be having further discussions with Peter O'Shea who is a partner in Baby Bling and Bling It On because he has expressed some interest in him."

Alldatglittersisgold is in foal to Somebeachsomewhere and Kaplan is yet to decide which stallion she will go to next.

"No decision has been made at this stage but obviously American Ideal and Western Terror come straight to mind but I will make my decision a little later in the year."

"It is so hard to explain to a non racing person the buzz you get when a horse you own wins a race but to cross the line first in a Gr. 1 is priceless, I might continue to breed for many years into the future and not get another big winner so you have to enjoy it when the opportunity comes along."
