has already driven 30 winners but her career away from the racetrack is looking even brighter after being awarded a HRNSW Media Scholarship. Her six month placement sees Seryn undertake formal media training, she spends a day each week at Sky Racing, working on harness racing programme 'In The Gig' and she also spends one day at Tabcorp Park Menangle working with Trots TV.
"I didn't plan on working in the media when I was younger, it is a new interest for me but I am really enjoying the opportunity I am getting at the moment and I am learning a lot," Adams said.
"I turn 20 next Monday and this opportunity is a tremendous one for me, after I have completed the six months I am hoping to get some more work in the media."
Adams will continue to drive her own horses when they compete in races despite her new interest.
"At this stage I will be driving my own horses, I've got two in work at the moment but I won't be chasing outside drives going forward."
"I really just want to make a difference for the sport and show the industry in a positive light, I must admit when I first started I was very nervous but with a bit of practice I have become a lot more relaxed and I am really enjoying it."
After completing school in 2009, Adams decided to further her studies in Childcare.
"When I left school I concentrated on working the horses but I also studied my Certificate III in Childcare to ensure that I had something to fall back on should I need it at a later stage but hopefully now I am heading in a different direction."
"I am about one month into the scholarship already and I really enjoy it, I'd love to work for Sky Racing one day on a fulltime basis."
