"I got him from New Zealand and I always thought Hilltop Hustler had plenty of ability but he has really charged through the grades so this race series looked a really nice option for him," Stanley said.
"For winning the heat he only copped a country penalty and the money is just about the equivalent of winning his M0 in Melbourne so it made sense to make the trip to Sydney and now he finds himself in a $30,000 race."
Hilltop Hustler won his heat in 1:53.9 accounting for Gliding Rose and has drawn barrier two in the final.
"There looks to be a bit of speed in the race, Franco Noriega likes to lead in his races and if we were able to slot in behind a horse like Freyberg and lob into the 1-1 then that would be ideal but if he gets shuffled back I wouldn't be afraid to make a move because he is pretty tough and can do some work in his races."
"When I travel to Sydney I like to get up there the day before the race, when I race at Menangle I normally stay at the Morris's but because this week's meeting is at Goulburn, I will travel up on Thursday and stay with Graham Moon just near the track, it will be ideal."
Stanley has confirmed his talented mare Blucolla Tigerpie is being set for the Robin Dundee Stakes, a Gr. 2 event for mares on Miracle Mile night.
"She is only two weeks away from the trials, I am really happy with her and that race at Menangle fits into her campaign really well, the only problem with her now is that she is so highly assessed that it is going to be tough to find her a couple of races to compete in beforehand."
