Patrons on course at Goulburn's Carnival Of Cup meeting on Monday will be treated to some great entertainment on and off the track. Country singer Adam Brand will perform live at the meeting as part of his role with Harness Racing New South Wales while the feature event, the Frank and Edna Day Goulburn Cup has attracted Victoria Cup winner For A Reason.
"I have spoken withand said the stable was tossing up between Saturday night at Menangle or Goulburn on Monday and it looks like we have won out with him not nominated for Menangle this weekend," Goulburn secretary Mark Croatto said.
"He is a great horse to have coming for the Goulburn Cup and while he might scare a few away I have also spoken withand he tells me that Suave Stuey Lombo will be in the race as well, so hopefully we can get each way betting for the race, it should be very exciting."
The new grandstand opened just before Christmas and will cater for its biggest crowd yet on Monday.
"The stand is operational, there are still some cosmetic things that need to be done but it was open for our meeting on December 23rd and it was great, I am hoping for a crowd of somewhere around the 1000 mark on Monday and it really is a good place to watch the races from."
There will be plenty of other activities trackside to keep people informed and entertained.
"The kids will be well looked after, we have the jumping castle and face painting plus some other things planned and Marshall Dobson will be our trackside MC ensuring the people on-course are kept informed of what is happening and also educating some of the people who might be attending harness racing for the first time."
"Marshall will be running a punters' club as well so if people are coming along that don't know the form, he will do the betting for them, it should be a great afternoon at the races."
