Saint John harness racing driver Mark Haig reached a milestone on Friday night in his racing career at Truro Raceway winning his 500th win of his career.
Haig, who started his driving career following in his Dad Tony's footsteps in the year 2000, scored with four-year-old pacing mare Miss Oromocto to register his career victory number five-hundred.
Sharon and Rick Burchill own the pacing mare with co-owner and trainer Mel Land of Hopewell Cape, New Brunswick.
In 2014, he captured his first-ever driving title at his home track at Saint John's Exhibition Park Raceway.
Haig has become one of the most popular catch-drivers in New Brunswick, and has won over $ 560,000 in career winnings, and sports a very respectable lifetime driving average of .270.
