Mark Haig continued to hold the hot hands in New Brunswick as he scored a pair of wins at Exhibition Park Raceway on Saturday afternoon.
Haig scored gate-to-wire efforts in back to back races for trainer Mel Land with Joeys Sidekix ( 2:04.2 ) and Lanny ( 2:05.2 ). He now has ten wins in just twenty-seven drives this year and a Fabulous .559 driving average.
In the days main event, Ramblinglily was making her 2014 debut and was involved in a placing after the judges ruled that her driver Allan Jones had caused interference to both J Rs Hurricane and Skippy.
It was originally ruled a dead-heat with Mike Downey's Stare Down but the four-year-old mare was placed back to forth for the interference. For Stare Down it was his first win on New Brunswick soil for the father-son duo of Dr. Mitchell and Mike Downey.
Next live card of racing in New Brunswick will be held on July 1st at Fredericton Raceway as Horse Racing New Brunswick hosts the traditional holiday program.
