FINDLAY, OHIO -- The Hancock County Fair Board and area horsemen, in partnership with Susan G. Komen Northwest Ohio, are racing for the cure this Thursday (August 28) at the Hancock County Fairgrounds. Two "Race for the Cure" events will be contested between the evening's pari-mutuel races.
Scheduled to race are local celebrities: Smokin Joe Bacon of WBVI, Findlay Municipal Court Judge Robert Fry, Hancock County Sheriff Michael E. Heldman, Jordan Strack of WTOL11 Sports, breast cancer survivor Chris Arnold, and Michaela Conkle (in memory of Kim Conkle).
In addition to the monies raised in the charity races and the donations of local business sponsors, the Foundation will also be selling t-shirts and accepting donations from the public.
Supporters can donate or purchase t-shirts even if they are not able to attend. T-shirts are $10.00 each and donations can be mailed to the Hancock County Agricultural Society, 1017 East Sandusky Street, Findlay, Ohio 45840. "Komen" must be written on the memo line of your checks or money orders.
