The California Harness Racing Horseman's Association has adopted by unanimous vote the following plan for the industry's future. The CHHA will work with all stakeholders and regulators to implement this plan. We feel this plan can bring health and vitality back to the industry.

The Plan: Beginning in 2011, racing will be divided 26 weeks at Cal Expo, and 26 weeks at the Fresno Fairgrounds.

The Dates: Cal Expo would race January 1st thru February 26th. This would be a continuation from the fall meet in 2010.

Fresno dates will be March 3rd thru August 27th.

Cal Expo would return Sept 1st thru December 31st. Then continue thru the end of February 2012.

Benefits: The return of year round racing in California.

Establishment of a new market should Cal Expo close.

Estimated 20% increase in overnight purse payout.

Estimated 20% increase in Sire Stake purses at both facilities.

Potential new ownership base in the strongest agricultural region in the state.

Enhanced ability to recruit, breed, and retain new horses.

Six months straight at each facility.

Big potential to return to a four day a week schedule.

Long term contract for both facilities and horseman.
