Harness racings greatest traveling sideshow, the C.K.G. Billings Amateur Driving Championship, will continue with competitions in both the midwest and the eastern regions on Sunday, June15.
Midwest regional action will offer one six- horse division carded as the third race on the betting card at Balmoral Park while eight eastern region amateurs will battle in the first race on the program at Saratoga Raceway.
Steve “You’re Never Too” Oldford will be looking to add to Midwest region point lead when he handles Eng-Amer Bobby and starts from post three in the Balmoral contest. “Buckboard Bob” Miller, currently in third place in the Midwest, will handle Easy Chaser and start from the pole position in that battle. And “Lawbook Larry” Farley, sixth on the Midwest leaderboard will drive Prime Number and start from post four.
In the eastern region split Todd “the Downeaster” Whitney, currently second in points in the east, will handle longshot Baywood Barrister and start from post seven n the Saratoga contest.y line favorite there figures to be Final Legacy who’ll have Pewter “the President” Gerry at the controls.
Set to make his Billings seasonal debut at Saratoga is Guy “the Watervleit Barrister” Roemer who’ll handle Prize Persona from the five-hole. And returning to the Billings wars Gary “the Conditioner” Barbare who’ll drive Boon and start from the coveted rail position in the Saratoga split.
Steve Oldford continues to lead in all three points category, Midwest region, eastern region and combined points standings.
