Harness racing trotting star Harriet Of Mot has won a workout at Methven on Saturday by a wide margin and looks to have come back in great condition.
The 5yo daughter of Monarchy started off a 30m handicap but began well and sat midfield on the outer before driver John Dunn surged her into the lead at the 600m and careered away winning easily by 8 lengths.
Trainer Aimee Edmonds was quickly on the phone to syndicate marketing manager Johnny Robinson saying she was delighted with the run and was pleased the horse never put a foot wrong in the running.
"She had the reinpricker and pacifiers back on again today," Aimee said.
Driver John Dunn was more than happy with how Hattie felt too, saying she did it well within herself.
"She had a good blow after the workout, and also blew up a bit over her back so she'll improve with the outing."
Aimee said that they're tossing up between two options for her next appearance.. a $13,000 C5 & Faster 2600m Trot at Addington on Friday, where she'd be off a 10m handicap, or a C1-0C 2400m Fillies & Mares Trot at Methven on Sunday carrying the same stake, where she'll give her rivals a 30m headstart.
"We'll nominate her for both, keep an eye on the weather forecast, and then make our decision early next week," Aimee said.
