Frozen Troubador (2) edges out - Master Miracle in the $25,700 Ohio Breeders Championship.

A pair of Ohio harness racing homebreds captured the two Ohio Breeders Championships Tuesday afternoon (September 18) at the Delaware County Fair. Frozen Troubador won the $25,700 2YO Colt Trot and Contessa Leigh captured the $30,650 2-YO Filly Trot.

Frozen Troubador held off the fast charging Master Miracle by a nose for Hugh Beatty.

Bred, owned and trained by Jack Marsh of Rawson, OH, Frozen Troubador took over the lead at the head of stretch to pick up his third victory of the year in a personal best 2:03.1and returned $17..80, 5.60, 3.00.

Contessa Leigh, bred, owned, trained and driven by Marty Wollam of Vienna,Oh, led all the way to defeat Diplomats Mistress by 2 ½ lengths in 2:01. The victory was the filly's fifth in seven career starts. Contessa Leigh paid $3.00, 2.10,2:10.

Ashlee's Wedding led from start to finish to give trainer Virgil Morgan, Jr. his 83rd Delaware Fair victory in the $10,000 Delaware Open Series. Kayne Kauffman was in the sulky as Ashlee's Wedding edged South Side Camie.
