The three day Derby Festival at Kincsem Park in Budapest began with Friday evenings’ trot-gallop-greyhound special followed by Saturday’s Trot Derby and the Gallop counterpart on Sunday.
Friday’s trotting feature was the Pentek Esti Super Sprint DIJ for 150,000Huf purse. The 200 meter sprint final went to 1.7/1 Offenbach Bigi (8m Andover Hall-Pinebank-Pine Chip) with trainer Emil Csordas at the point.
The .09.5kr winner bested 1.1/1 Check In Blagul (8f Adams Hall-Nettan Girl-Wibrantus) reined by trainer Lajos Marton with 11/1 Priscilla (7f Missionary Man-Sweepan-Crown Sweep) third and Working Out (7m Muscles Yankee-Enjoy Our Nanny-Enjoy Lavec) fourth.
Saturday’s top trotting action featured the 102nd edition of the Magyar Trotting Derby, this year for four year-olds, contested over 2500 meters autostart for a purse of 7,500,000Huf (US$26,327).
The solid colt Time To Say Goodbye (4m Maximus Lindy-Jungfrau-Valley Guardian) prevailed for trainer/driver Lajos Marton and owner Amma Kft. timed in 1.18.9kr. Off at 1.7/1 odds the favorite bested 4.2/1 Titan Ville (4g Noir Desir-Izaville-Endless Sands) in a narrow verdict. Imre Fazekas trains and drove Titan Ville, 94/1 Titus Living (4m Incredible Cole-Juet-Valley Guardian) was third for Emil Csordas with Trencsen and Tornado Cole finishing fourth and fifth.
The Criterium for three year-olds (purse 1,800,000Huf, 1800 meters autostart) went to 2.2/1 favorite Ujrazz! (3m Maximus Lindy-Gyorsulj!-Witsend Speedy) clocked in 1.18.2kr for Sandor Varga, also trainer, and CZE owner Antioch Arani SRO. The winner recorded his fourth victory in five 2016 starts. 12.9/1 Under World (3m Racino-Zaba-Yankee Class) took second for Csaba Lakatos and 10.8/1 Ugeto Star (3m Americas Dust-Intelligent Star-Oaklea Bluejay) ended third for Laszlo Kolozsi.
Also on the card was the Jozsef Sinka Memorial for 1,000,000Huf over 1800 meters autostart and 2.3/1 veteran Milliondollar Lux (10m Ganymede-Dadaumpa Jet-Supergill) prevailed for trainer/driver Emil Csordas and owner Sun Systems Kft.
Timed in 1.15.7kr, the winner defeated 6/1 Orderly (9f Yankee Glide-Dearest Darling-Untra Decal) with trainer Csaba Lakatos up, and third finishing 2.7/1 Amazing Koks (9g Jailhouse Joey-Data Star Index-Ata Star L) with trainer Lajos Marton driving. Reste Premier and Real Bee Power were fourth and fifth.
Earlier the 1,800,000Huf purse Pannonia DIJ was contested over 1800 meters autostart with Royal Flesh (6m Wall Street Banker-Tamesways Sweet L) scoring in 1.16.5kr for Mitja Slavic, owner Amma Kft. and trainer Lajos Marton. Off at 4.2/1 the winner defeated 4.3/1 Speedy Boy (5g Wall Street Banker-Vas Lady-Endless Sands) with Veljko Mazsity up and 9.4/1 Szacharin (5f Vanito-Inzula-Valley Guardian) and Laszlo Kolozsi.
The Kincsem Park program also included the 600,000Huf purse Daniel Bisbac Memorial raced over 1900 meters autostart. 2.4/1 Salome’Bar (5f Ganymede-Acquavite Bar-Crowning Point) scored in 1.16.4kr for amateur driver Bernadett Balogh and Prolongo Kft. 1.4/1 Sanger MS (6g Victory Scream-Samba MS-Armbro Goal) was second for trainer/driver Imre Fazekas with third going to 1.8/1 second choice Conway Boko (7m Castleton Bass-Waecon Boko-Conway Hall) handled by trainer Tibor Hajnal. Orifiamma Jet and Andorra Gold were fourth and fifth.
