I See Icy Earl - in full stride.

Trafalgar trotter I See Icy Earl is a strong winning chance in the $25,000 Holmfield for three-year-old trotters at Melton this Friday night (June 3). The Glenn Hunter trained and driven squaregaiter finished an unlucky second in last weekend's New South Wales Trotters Derby after galloping early and losing ground.

On the strength of that effort I See Icy Earl looks a good chance in Friday's race, which starts at 10:14pm.

Hunter will also partner Cranbourne pacer Astronaut in the $100,000 Vicbred Super Series Final earlier in the night.

On Saturday night at Cranbourne several local horses will compete. Best of the chances is likely to be Cullen Bromac in the third race.

The three-year-old takes on older horses for the first time, but was most impressive in winning at Geelong last Saturday night and is chasing a hat-trick of victories. Cullen Bromac races at 7:30pm.

Meanwhile harness racing returns to Warragul on Friday week, June 10.
