New Zealand two-year-old Iceobar proved too good for his seven rivals in the 2nd heat of the Vicbred Super Series for 2YO Colts & Geldings at Kilmore yesterday.

The son of Courage Under Fire, who was trained by Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen while in New Zealand, is being trained by Brent Lilley during the Vicbred Series.

After working forward three-wide and eventually finding the front, Iceobar held out second favourite Show Me The Bling, before kicking strongly in the hands of Greg Sugars to pull away for 4.3 metre win.

Show Me The Bling, who is a half-brother to Baby Bling and Bling It On, was game in second, while Virgil Hilts was a distant third.

Both Iceobar and Show Me Bling were bred by Harvey Kaplan, giving the renowned breeder the Quinella in the race.

Iceobar is owned by Natalie Rasmussen, Neil Piltcher, and Trevor Casey, who combined with Brent Lilley for success again in the following race with Crusader Acey.

Purdon and Rasmussen will combined with Lilley again tonight when Messini contests a three-year-old heat of the Vicbred Series at Geelong.
