Six year old gelding Im Fulla Luck will face the biggest test of his harness racing career when he competes in the Gr. 3 Winter Cup at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night (July 21).

The son of Northern Luck has won his last four starts and trainer Darren McCall believes he deserves a chance at the next level.

"Saturday night will determine where he can go and whether he is going to make it as a country cups horse because while he recorded a 1:51.6 win two starts ago, times can be a bit misleading," McCall said.

"He has continued to improve since he arrived at my stable and I believe that he has still got a little bit left up his sleeve because he was attacked last start and kept on fighting it out right to the line."

Im Fulla Luck was recommended to McCall by a former employee and after speaking with the gelding's connections in New Zealand a decision was made to send him to Australia.

"A young New Zealand guy that used to work for me in Canada called Tim Hall suggested Im Fulla Luck would be a good horse to race in Sydney so I rang Michelle Wallis who was training him in New Zealand at the time and she was keen to send him over here."

"He is big, plain and nothing special to look at but showed ability as a two and three year old in good company in New Zealand."

McCall rates Jaccka Clive as the hardest to beat and is amazed a son of Tinted Cloud can be such a good stayer.

"I actually drove Tinted Cloud and he was one scary individual because of his speed, I remember working him one day over a mile and a half in three minutes, covering the last half in 55 seconds and home in 26."

"Tinted Cloud was freakishly fast yet he has thrown two of the best stayers Australia has seen in Smoken Up and Jaccka Clive."
