Another ex-Kiwi to salute the judge on Wednesday at Cranibourne was Gypsy Franco, a filly by Mystical Shark from Gypsy Atom who took out the M & D Jones Customs 3-Y-0 Pace over 2105 metres.

Trained at Lara (Geelong) by Dean Braun and driven by Greg Sugars, Gypsy Franco enjoyed the run of the race from the pole on the back of the leader High Expectations when making her second appearance at the races.

Not bothering to use the sprint lane, Sugars eased Gypsy Franco outside the pacemaker on the home turn and she raced away in the home running to score by a 12.3 metre margin over High Expectations which fought on well, with Buffons Ball third along the sprint lane from four back along the markers.

The mile rate 2-03.3.
