The Sunday night harness racing feature at Running Aces was the $10,000 Open Handicap Pace with a talented field of seven contenders.
The big race favorite Roland N Rock (Luke Plano) would be caught three wide from post seven to take the early lead during the 27.1 opening panel, and continued to lead through a very soft second quarter of 30.1. JDS Brent N Sheree (Dean Magee) launched a first over attack near the midway point, and was able to power past the leader just before the final turn, opening up about a three length cushion before pacing strong in the lane to secure the 13-1 upset in the feature, stopping the clock in 1:52.1. SF Donttellonme (Joe Casagranda) got free late and rallied for second, with Easy Again (Rick Magee) home third.
The winner is owned by Truman Gale and trained by Robert Lems.
Drivers Rick Magee, Dean Magee, Luke Plano, James Yoder and Steve Wiseman all completed multiple wins on the card.
Live Racing continues three nights a week at Running Aces through September 16, post times are 7:00 pm CDTTuesdays and 6:00 pm CDT Saturdays and Sundays.
