Scarborough, Maine (Saturday, April 11, 2015) – JJs Jet rocketed back into the Scarborough Downs consciousness on Saturday (4/11), as the Drew Campbell driven/trained entry finally tasted victory while making his third upper-class appearance of the 2015 season.
Owned by Bruce Maxwell of St. John, N.B., Canada, the 6 year-old gelded son of Jereme's Jet launched a determined first over campaign to engage last week's top class winner, Ellie's Best Dream (Ron Cushing) before putting the mare away in deep stretch. JJs Jet then stopped the tele-timer in a sterling 1:57.2, the fastest clocking yet of the young Scarborough Downs season.
Ellie's Best Dream, the lone mare in the field raced strong from the 8-hole today, holding for the place. Fear Itself (Nick Graffam), making his very first start of the season completed the top three.
Live harness racing is proudly featured at Scarborough Downs every Saturday and Sunday with post time slated for 1:00 p.m. (EDT)
