Jamieson Steele, who won his ninth race at Tabcorp Park Melton last Saturday and has now earned in excess of $100,000, is a six-year-old harness racing gelding expected to graduate far beyond his present rating.
The Million Dollar Cam gelding came from a seemingly hopeless position on the home turn to mow down his rivals, tramping his last 800 in 54.7 seconds. The mile rate was 1:54 for 1720 metres.
Jamieson Steele was one of six Million Dollar Cam winners over the holiday period. The Yirribee Pacing Stud sire produced a double at Redcliffe with Gina Tarantella, who posted her fifth success on end, and Getaloadathisgirl, together with the Globe Derby Park winner Alimonie, Spirited (Temora) and Isntthatright (Albury).
Million Dollar Cam has sired 102 individual winners in Australia to date and progeny earnings of $4.5 million for an average of a creditable $30,300 per starter.
Tintin In America, the sire of 2019 USA Horse of the Year Shartin, led in winners on both sides of the Tasman. Nimah Franco NZ, a six-year-old mare, led from end to end in 1:56.1 at Albion Park, while Jack Tar rated 1:58.4 winning his fourth race at Cambridge Raceway, New Zealand.
