Local trainer Joseph Poirier went on a three-race win streak mid-card on Wednesday evening at Inverness Raceway.

Poirier drove six-year-old pacing mare Iona Katie to a 2:03.1 half-length victory in the fourth race to kick off his stable's streak. Shelby Miller then drove eight-year-old pacing gelding Four Brass Starz to a 2:02.4 triumph and nine-year-old pacing gelding Miramichi Gouch to a 2:03.4 score to complete the triple.

Poirier's three wins during the eight-race card bumped his 2014 total to eight and moved him into second-place on the local leaderboard behind trainers Walter Walker, Stanley Harper Jr. and Don Beaton, who are all tied for first-place with nine wins each.
