Top combo...Gary Hall and Gary junior

Star harness racing driver Gary Hall junior has joined a top fraternity of reinsmen thanks to his latest milestone.

Hall’s recent victory with rising star pacer Northview Punter saw him become the fifth West Australian to register 2000 wins in more than a century of trotting in the state.

Champion reinsman Chris Lewis leads the way on 4628, followed by Colin Brown (2666), Fred Kersley (2377) and Trevor Warwick (2040).

Hall’s father, Gary, is also close to a milestone of his own, with the record-breaking mentor on the verge of becoming WA’s most successful trainer.

Senior’s tally is sitting on 2181 as of Themightynadal’s win at Gloucester Park yesterday, placing him in ‘striking distance’ of Warwick’s benchmark of 2285.

Kersley is second on the table with 2281 wins.
