HARRINGTON, Del. - John Dayton's Just A Jolt ($3.80,) reset the track record for 4-year-old pacing geldings Monday with a 1:50.3 triumph in the $17,000 Open Pace at Harrington Raceway.
The 4-year-oldgelding was sent for the lead approaching the quarter-mile after being released by last week's winner Moe to an opening quarter of 27. Moe was unable to reel in Just A Jolt through a 27-second final panel with the latter prevailing by a length. Ez Noah, who was there-wide after the half-mile was a game third.
Trained by Jim King Jr., it was the eighth win of the year for Just A Jolt, and fourth already in five starts this year at Harrington. Just A Jolt broke his own 4-year-old track record, which was co-held by Western Ace (1:51.1).
