Last season’s Breeders Crown three-year-old fillies’ champion Just Cala today became the fourth Australian horse to be invited to New Zealand’s rich Harness Jewels meeting.
The four-year-old mare by Art Major out of Holmes Hanover mare Lilsistar has won eight of her 20 Australian starts and will be a travelling companion for stable-mate Glenferrie Bronte, who will race in the three-year-old fillies’ section.
The announcement gives Shepparton trainer/driver Amanda Turnbull two Jewels contenders.
Ashburton will host the annual Jewels meeting on May 30.
